SCOAP3

A partnership of over 3,000 libraries, funding agencies and research organisations across 47 countries, regions or territories, hosted at CERN under international governance. Its elegance is financial: instead of new money, it redirects the subscription budgets libraries already spent, converting them into open access publishing. Over 70,000 articles across 11 journals, with an Open Science Mechanism rewarding publishers’ open practices from January 2025.
