CERN Account Types

CERN distinguishes Primary accounts (one main login per affiliated person), Secondary accounts (alternative personal logins) and Service accounts (logins for services or automation). Users without a CERN affiliation can use guest or linked external identities. The lifecycle differs: personal accounts are eventually blocked and deleted after departure, while Service accounts can be transferred.
