Director-General
The Director-General is the supreme executive authority of CERN. Currently, Mark Thomson holds the position for the 2026–2030 term. The Director-General issues Operational Circulars (such as OC5 and OC11) that establish binding policies across the Organization.
In the current governance structure, the Director-General delegates IT authority to the RCS Sector Director and the CIO.
